greyhound lying on blanket; adopt a greyhound; gpnl

GPNL partners with international rescue organizations, like Candy’s Hounds Rescue International in the UK, MotorCity Greyhound Rescue in the US, and Paws Rescue Qatar to transport Greyhounds, Whippets, and Salukis rescued from the Chinese meat trade and the streets of Qatar to Canada.

Our next load of dogs is expected in Fall 2022. We need all the help we can get to offset the costs associated with bringing these dogs to Newfoundland. To donate, please send EMT to treasurer@gpnl.ca.

Anyone wishing to foster or adopt a Greyhound, Whippet, or Saluki can apply here.

GPNL will be bringing Apache and some friends (Lavender and Drake) over from Qatar as soon as arrangements can be made. Pressure is on for all Canadian rescues and their international partners prior to the CFIA ban on September 28.

Lavender

Lavender is a 1.5 year old, female Saluki currently in the care of Paws Rescue Qatar. She is spayed and cat-safe.

Lavender was found unable to move on her four limbs. The vet said it appeared she was suffering botulism and that it would take time to see if she’d survive or regain full use of her limbs. Thankfully she made a full and complete recovery, albeit slowly.

She is a happy girl who socializes well with other dogs and loves people. She is friendly, playful and enjoys cuddles.

Drake

Drake is a 7-month-old, male Saluki currently in the care of Paws Rescue Qatar. He came to them from a TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) site and was picked up after he sustained an injury to his leg with an open wound that required time to heal.

Drake is a playful character and full of beans. He is affectionate and loves cuddles. He is social with other dogs and loves children. He is also neutered and cat-safe.

Grace

Grace is 1 year old and currently in Qatar. She will travel to Newfoundland in the next couple of weeks. Her mother is an Otterhound type mix that was rescued from under a truck in labor with 10 pups. Grace is one of 3 remaining to find a home.

Grace has been in foster since May and is doing great. Her foster mom says that she is the cutest big dog ever and loves cuddles and tummy rubs. She is crate & potty trained, and good with other dogs, adults, and children. She loves swimming in a swimming pool and the beach.
